The new Acropolis museum

The floors are made of glass and are used to obtain optical continuity of the Parthenon in the room up until the excavation of 2,500 square meters underground. They combine strength and 5cm thick, slip resistant and heat insulation. Earthquake-resistant design allows the museum to withstand an earthquake of 10 degrees on the Richter scale. The 92 support columns are based on as many "bases inverted pendulum", ie two-metal construction of 1.2 m in diameter that appear to be two plates with concave surfaces to ensure the well-polished minimum of friction.
